This photography series documents John Newman's energetic live performance at Kronenfest, captured directly from the front row. Shot entirely in black and white, the project focuses on raw emotion, high-contrast light, and the raw energy of a live concert environment.
Challenge
The main challenge was shooting in challenging low-light festival conditions using only an iPhone 14 Pro Max. Working from the front row with fast stage movement and intense lighting changes required working around mobile camera limitations while preserving sharp focus and visual quality.
Solution
To embrace the technical constraints, the entire series was processed in high-contrast black and white. This reduced digital noise, emphasized dramatic light and shadows, and converted technical limitations into a raw, cinematic aesthetic that complements the intense energy of the performance.
